Ministries
Where Can I Serve?
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Curtis Corner Baptist Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. CCBC members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles or as important as teaching God’s Word. We are a ministry-oriented church that believes God saved us and ordained us to good works. Below you will learn about some of our many ministries.
Soul Winning Outreach
We believe that Christ gave the responsibility to spread the Gospel to the each believer. In our daily lives we should be ready and willing to tell others what God has done for us and what He can do for them. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful, life changing, and the only way to salvation. Each week we have scheduled times where our members go out and spread the glorious Gospel of Christ.
Bus Ministry
We provide free transportation to our Church on buses and our van. Our vehicles are well-maintained and driven by properly licensed and responsible adults. Saturday visitation and Sunday morning transportation, combine into a fantastic training ground for people who want to learn the details of ministry. Songs, games, prizes, and activities keep the workers and riders busy!
Ministry Outreach
CCBC is thrilled to spread the Gospel around the world. We actively support missionaries around the world with our money and with our prayers. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or minister in our own community.
Save New England Ministry
This sister ministry was founded by our Pastor. It promotes revival, soul winning, and church planting in the New England states and around the country. Learn more about SNE here.
Sunday School
Learning the Bible is required of a true disciple. During our Sunday School hour, we focus on learning the Word of God and applying it to our lives in an age appropriate way that’s relative to the student’s stage in life. The children are placed in classes according to grade and the adults are placed in classes according to life stages. It is a great privilege for our member’s to not only attend a class, but also to become teachers or helpers.
Nursery
Ladies take turns providing loving care for children birth through 4 years of age in our nursery so that parents can learn the Word of God without distraction. Our nursery is a great opportunity to show children the love of God and importance of church from birth while providing encouragement and support to the parents.
Children’s Church
In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, CCBC conducts children’s church services in conjunction with the Sunday morning service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.
Youth Ministry
The 7th – 12th graders enjoy monthly activities and work in our ministries. Large Summer activities such as Teen Camp and our Youth Road Trip, give the teens incredible opportunities to grow in grace, create lifelong friendships, and spend time with Pastor. Volunteers are always needed for activities. In addition, our teen Sunday School classes apply God’s Word to their current needs and answer their most pressing questions.
Nursing Homes
We minister to several area facilities. Volunteers visit the residents, conduct church services, sing, and preach God’s Word. We reach many elderly people that would have never attended our church when they were younger. Through this ministry, we see many people saved and friendships built.
Prison Ministry
We minister to inmates of the Rhode Island Department of Corrections through weekly Bible study and Quarterly 3 day revival meetings.
Music & Drama
God-honoring worship is something we strive for in each service. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of CCBC, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. We have adult and children’s choirs that practice before our Sunday evening service. Choir members provide special music for our services.
Hospitality Team
The Hospitality team at CCBC fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The Hospitality team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of CCBC. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship responsibility to use these tools for God. Many of our sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active social media presence for additional church communication.
Pastor’s Prayer Partners
Prayer cannot be overestimated. It moves the hand of God. CCBC is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s will. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Pastor’s Prayer Partners team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.
